"Canadian drugs are cheaper because the government-run health-care system, which buys in massive quantities, negotiates directly with the drug companies and gets them for less than American consumers pay."

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does your drugs come from?

We get our drugs from Canada. Why Canada?  Because Canadian medications (brand names and generic) are held to exceptionally high manufacturing and quality standards.  Just like the US they have a very stringent drug approval system.

Many of the medications available in Canada are the identical as those sold in the US and other industrialized nations, although they may look different or have a different name.  We will NOT send you any medication that does not have an approved version in the country where you live.

What are generic drugs?
When a company invents a drug, the name they give it is called the Brand Name.  That company has exclusive rights to make that drug for a certain number of years (approximately 10 years in the US and 5-7 years in Canada).

After that time period, other companies are allowed to make the same drug. These drugs are called Generics.  They are IDENTICAL to the Brand Name drugs in terms of active ingredients.  The generic pills may look different (because they are made by a different company) but inside has exactly the same active ingredient which works in exactly the same way.

The only difference between brand name drugs and generic drugs is that generics are always less expensive.

Who makes the Canadian generic drugs and are they safe?
Canadian drugs are made by many well respected companies which include Apotex, Novopharm, RatioPharm, GenPharm, Taro and PharmaScience.

The Canadian generics are just as safe and effective as US generics. And just like the FDA in the US, Canada has a government agency that tightly monitors the safety and quality of all drugs sold in Canada.

Why can I buy a generic version from Canada that is not available where I live?
Due to the differences in patent laws, Canada can produces generic versions of brand name drugs that are not yet available in other countries. These versions are usually offered to you at substantial savings over its brand name counterpart.

Do I need a prescription?
YES.  Just like your local pharmacy, for prescription drugs, a valid prescription is required from a licensed physician able to practice medicine and prescribe medications in the place where you live.

Of course, NO prescription is needed for non-prescription (Over-The-Counter) drugs.

Can I transfer a prescription from my local pharmacy?
Unfortunately, we can NOT transfer prescriptions from other pharmacies.  In order for us to fill your prescription, you must fax to us a copy of your ORIGINAL prescription from your doctor.

What is the maximum amount of medication I can purchase?
We can only supply as much medication as your physician prescribes for you UP TO a maximum of three (3) months at a time.

What if you don’t carry what I am looking for?
Can't find what you're looking for?  Email us at info@DrugsToGo.NET and a Customer Service Representative will get back to you within 24 hours by email or phone.

Why do you not sell all drugs?
We will NOT handle habit forming or controlled/narcotic drugs. It is against the law to sell narcotic or controlled substances via mail order.

Some other drugs have been generic for such a long time that they are also relatively inexpensive in other countries.  We recognizes that those drugs would be more expensive to buy from us than at home, so we do not offer them for sale.

Will you accept my Insurance?
NO.  At this time, we cannot process insurance claims.  However, we will provide you with a detailed list of purchases and receipts so you can make a direct claim from your insurer.

Why do I have to fill out a health profile form?
By law, in order for us to fill your prescription, your original prescription must be re-written by a Canadian Physician.  Our pharmacists and physicians, particularly since they can’t see you in person, use the information provided to re-assess your prescription. In some cases, they may even contact your local physician.  All this is necessary to ensure your safety from any potential drug interactions.

Do I need to fill out these forms EVERY time I place an order?
NO.  You ONLY need to fill out these forms ONCE.

If you are an existing patient who wants to fill additional prescriptions, you do NOT need to fill out these forms again. Simply fax or mail your prescriptions to us and we will process it.

Please make sure your NAME and PHONE NUMBER is clearly printed some where on the fax in case we need to call your for any reason.

It is also IMPORTANT that you notify us if there has been a change in your medical condition and/or medications.

What about Refills?

If you are an existing patient who wants to refill a prescription that we have on file for you, simply go to the Refills Page and place your order there.

As a reminder, we are sending these drugs to you from Canada so please allow up to 21 days for delivery.

Again, it is IMPORTANT that you notify us if there has been a change in your medical condition and/or medications.

Will my information be sold to any other company?
NO. Never!!  All information provided to us will be held in strict confidence.

How long will it take to process my order?
Please allow 3 business days from the time we receive your prescription to have your order processed.  One of our pharmacists will contact you or your doctor if additional information is required.

Once shipped, your medications should arrive in 2 to 3 weeks.  However, shipments may take longer if detained by customs and/or FDA.

If you require your medication more quickly please purchase them locally and plan your future purchases from us with greater lead time.

How do I pay for my medication order?
We accept payments by Visa or MasterCard.  Your invoice will be in Canadian dollars whereas your credit card statement will be in US dollars.  If you leave your credit card information blank, we will contact you by phone for that information.  So please make sure your phone number is on the order.

We also accept Cashier's Checks, Money Orders and Personal Checks via E-Check as well. (see our Order Form for more details)
