(HCTZ) is a diuretic (water pill) and is used
to eliminate excess water from the body by increasing
urination. Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ)
is used to treat high blood pressure and edema
(swelling) of the hands and feet.

Side Effects
This medicine
can increase your skins sensitivity to sunlight.
Avoid prolonged
exposure to sunlight, sunlamps, etc..
Talk to your
doctor before taking this medicine if you have a
history of diabetes, liver problems or have
difficulty in urinating.
Also talk to
your doctor if you have an allergy to
"sulfa" drugs.
